"Vintagerose" unique glass bead pendant on noble Habotai silk
The Habotai silk comes from Japan, where silk painting has a long tradition. 1000 BC silk came from China via Korea to Japan, where it soon became very popular as a fabric for high-quality kimonos. Shortly afterwards, Japanese artists discovered that they could mix colors with other materials and thus prevent them from flowing out on the fine silk. The silk artists achieved the best results on particularly light, fine and dense fabrics, such as the Habotai silk .
It is characterized by its very fine and smooth structure and is therefore one of the highest quality silks. It can absorb up to 50 percent of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet. It feels very soft and flowing on the skin.
